Lack of Parity

One stares at another.
Together in proximity, not in emotion.
They feel each other there.
Physically.

Together they aren't, the distance imposing.
It grows vastly with every miscommunication.

One tries, in vain, to understand the other.
The other is trying too. Neither figure it out.

They finally reach a breaking point.
So far apart are they, aliens to another.

One stares at the other.
Together in proximity, not by emotion.

And it becomes apparent there's a lack of clarity.
And it becomes apparent there's a lack of parity.
And it becomes apparent there's a lack of sanity.

One stares at another.
The other's on the turning away.

Apart in proximity, not by emotion.
