Goodbye, Naivety

The melting passion fades into the spring storm
The emotions you held towards me were an illusion
Things such as tears are all that keep me warm
I wish I could bid farewell to my nights of seclusion

Glass tears will surely fall and break into silence
Shattering into nothingness like yesterday
Even the sun’s warmth displays a grim ambience
A scorching untouchable flame of foul play

Love’s breaths become distorted
Everything is colored in solitude’s dye
Happiness has helplessly gone unsupported
The pursuit of one’s dreams have gone awry

I have forgotten past memories of love
The single dying star looks so helpless and forlorn
Just like the voice from a mourning dove
Loneliness is more than a single thorn.

A grim secret muddles the meaning of life
Shouting goodbye to the times I have been naïve
Singing of resentment and a bitter strife
The grey clouds do not know when to leave

And we scream goodbye with tears that remain lukewarm…
