It started off as something new
Something sweet, something true
You were there for me
When I cried
When they died
When all my hope drained away

You left me suddenly
A small slice across your wrist
A gaping hole where I had thought
My heart had once been

Now it's black
Now it's blue
Nothing I say
Nothing I do
Can ever bring me you
How can I hope that
Everything will be alright
When you were the very one
To hold me and the knife

I visited you once
Rain falling down
You weren't there though

It was just a stone
Laid down in the ground
