I Remember
I remember the first time I wore glasses, HOLY CRAP the world was huge! It was as if I had never seen before
I was a house with no windows and the lenses enlightened my pupils
I remember when my dog Cody passed away, that night sitting at the table ready for Hanukah prayers my mother broke the news, a fuse for my heart to blow
I remember 5 years later getting my new dog Guthrie, a beautiful golden retriever
instantly the seed for my heart to re-grow
I remember the first time I rode a unicycle, turning the pedals with no handle bar support felt like slipping on ice. Once I got going, faster and faster, I thought "WHERE THE HELL ARE THE BRAKES??"
I remember falling down the stairs no more than 2 years of age, my dad dived down, thankfully not breaking his rib cage, my mom and sister were down in another room, later on they said all they heard was a BOOM CLASH BOOM!
Boy, you'd think a 2 year old would be doomed
I wish I could remember more of the times my dad was alive, now its as if the days have disappeared into a black hole, never to be exhumed, no matter how hard I dig
Listen kids, smoking is a big mistake
I remember my first crush, her name was Amber, my best friend
No matter what happened our friendship would never end
I remember when she moved to north carolina in 3rd grade
My eyes transformed into a waterfall during a hurricane
I remember when I broke my wrist in Kindergarden, swinging on the Monkey bars, I tried to hide the pain because I was afraid of the hospital
These memories that I have, they shall always be engraved forever in the book of my life, and no matter where I am years to come
they shall always be mine, like the King and his shrine

This was an assignment in my english class, I opened up to my class and was commended for it. I hope I will not be judged here either. I kinda re-wrote this and changed up parts and took out some, but it's still the same poem. I hope it's better.
