Home Sweet Hell

It hurts to know they’re so close but so far,
To leave their faith pending on a dying star,
When they both knew this could swing both ways,
All she can do now is dirty her knees,
When she got down and prayed,

She collected the sticks and stones he hurled at her,
And built a house, she was safe and sound,
But the blazing fire on his tongue,
Just burnt it to the ground,

She then went back to where,
She said she’d never go,
It never felt so good to her,
To end up so low,

A promise once broken,
An apology never meant,
A silent cry for help was heard,
But never was it felt.

She’s fighting a losing battle,
A war she’ll never win,
She kisses him, her last good bye,
As she hears the angels sing,

In a place where no man ventures,
An adventure only she dare roam,
“Home sweet hell”, she whispered,
There’s no hell like home…
