Sleeping Beautifully After All

The years I wait, all the cold nights alone.
Nothing can sooth the pain in my bones.
Stars shine above, children play below,
Though they're free, there is much more I know.
I know a thousand pains, being lied to as well,
The life I've lived is nothing short of eternal hell.
I was once promised a savior to come,
White steed, God's speed, everlasting love.
But I soon realized that would never be,
For no one knows atop this tower is me.
A young girl once, cast aside without care,
Forced to groom and grow out her golden hair.
A cascading emblem of sybolisms irony,
For there is no image that depicts me.
A spell of hate, regret, and passion,
Upon my infant head it came crashing.
Solid, cold rock inprison my heart,
But nobody guessed it at the start.
This was protection, a haven of hope,
My life's salvation, neve allowed to go.
Shut up in a tower, closed off from life,
My best bet for happiness? A knife.
Just one movement could end it all,
A slit, that's it. Sleeping beautifully after all.
