Hope

My sun has faded towards the dark,
The light has gone unto the stars.
To begin again unreal and scared,
To reveal a new beginning full of challenge.

The heart only beats for so long,
Always aware that it may find love or hate.
Hope clings onto a string and never lets go,
only to save some lives to late.

Darkness swallows up whole the sour minds,
Only to enlighten our souls.
The light doth fall from angel's heights,
And unto the shoulder's of man be caught.

The ticking of clocks and the maddening sound close in,
paranoia sinking close by.
A hand reaches out of the dark to save us,
But only from ourselves in due time.

The burdens of our souls do grow weary,
But they never give up or let the dark take over.
We chose our own ends,
Just like the end chooses our soul.
