"Blissful Dance"

It is love--it is love just looking at her
Wonderous things, the sun beating down
In the sand you love to dance around
Once played in as a child, yet you grew and there you found:
The music--it's clarifying
Her eyes--they're paralyzing
One look and you're lost for words
Closer, closer, closer
The music whirls and whirls and whirls

Life is so busy, but then there is love--
It's love to look at her, you just can't get enough
Beautiful lady, wonderful things
Her shimmering eyes are illuminating
Ballerina, in the sand you love to leap
Once played in as a child, yet you grew and came to think:
The lake--it's glistening
Her smile--it's listening
One look and you realize that it is real
True, true, true
The music, it unavails, unavails, unavails

It is love--it is love just looking at her
The wonderful things she does; it lands
You must have seen her dancing in the sand
A serene picture, because they can't say
They'll ever succeed in taking her away
But still looking on, she sings the song
The words she knows, the tune she hums
And it is sweet sounding--oh, so sweet
Softer, softer, softer
The song just speaks and speaks and speaks

It is love--she is love
She is your favorite part of the song
In the sand she hopes you prance
Be the child from many summers' dance
Be yourself, tiny dancer
You are a beautiful lady
You hold many wonderful traits
Show the world, it shall be amazing
She is in you--oh, so in you
Laughing, laughing, laughing
Looking on, you sing this song
And you are blissfully as one
Tiny dancers swaying and swaying and swaying
Until the rising of the sun

I wish to say that this was written for someone in particular, but that would be a lie. This wasn't written for anyone, actually. The story behind "Blissful Dance" has to do with Elton John's song "Tiny Dancer." I listen to that song a lot, it's my favorite song by him. It really does speak to me, too. Such a beautiful part at the end: "Ballerina, you must have seen her dancing in the sand." The last time in the song that that line is sang is the part I love the most :) (thereby having referred to it so many times in this poem). Maybe another reason for having referenced "dancing in the sand" as many times as I did was because I was listening to this song (purposefully, of course), as I was writing "Blissful Dance." I wanted to write what I personally felt Elton was trying to convey in this touching piece of music; the feelings that I felt while listening to "Tiny Dancer." Well, I hope you enjoyed reading this as much as I enjoyed writing it. As always, comments or criticisms (what's your favorite part??) are welcome! :D
