She Smiled In Her Sleep

I once knew a girl
Who was as normal as can be
I was staying at her house and noticed
She smiled in her sleep

The very next morning
A frown took the smile's place
A look of horror and terror
Filled this little girl's face

The doorbell rang and she opened the door
Letting a tall man in
He smirked and struck her to the floor
and said "The games begin"

A smack, a hit, a couple of tears
surfaced the girl's cheeks
unleashing her own pocket full of fears
Making her seem weak

It went like this, the rest of the day
She was tackled and run around
A smile went with the words she would say
As the sun went down

I think I know, I figured out why she smiles in her sleep
when it reaches late
The curves of her lips and dimples meet,
It's because she knows she's safe.
