Honor

They shed their sweat and blood to keep you safe.
We should thank them before it’s too late.
They risk their life every day.
Everything they do is to be sure you’re okay.
They think of loved ones every time they step into that uniform.
Not knowing who they’ll see again, they run into the bullet storm.
They’re all for one and one for all.
Together they stand together they fall.
Baring a gun in hand and loved ones on their mind,
All they want is to get through, to see them one more time.
To say “I love you” And see their face,
The worry that they may not return, makes your heart race.
But if things go bad, and they are a goner,
Just know that when they died, they left with honor.
