Becoming

so young and yet so wise
learned it all with my own eyes
grew up taking care of an elder
no longer my responsibility, but pushed onto another

a new start with fresh eyes
starting from scratch you realize
Its not all it's cracked up to be
on your own is a scary thing

you'll see what you're made of
in the end
when your depended upon
mommy mode kicks in

all your life lessons
things you never really realized
you'll understand what your mother meant
most likely even, you'll apologize

I'm 19 now and I grew up taking care of my mother for she was physically disabled. I've moved out now and am in the proses of starting my own little family this is just a small thanks to my mom for teaching me how to take care of myself and others without it really seeming like i was beign taught anything and made me be able to do what i do so well with out freaking out
