Like a Book

*Count in on guitar, 1. 2. 3. 4*

This guitar doesn't have a use right now,
It's for entertainment purposes
But if you care to take a minute
I'll explain why I'm here in verses.

Now I've got your attention,
I'd like to mention,
Some things that've been on my mind
Like the pages of a book
I'll read to you,
And by the end I hope I've opened some eyes.

Quite frankly, I'm quite sick of it
I see it every day,
War in the papers and blood on the streets,
Like a stain that won't go away

There's a constant affiliation,
That the medias preach bad news
So why don't we change our outlook
The whole country's got the blues

Stop sitting down in this indignation,
Saying, oh there's nothing I can do
Convey a message of peace of love
Maybe once, say "after you"

Imagine if life was a book
A story on every page
Words black, and white,
And big and small
No intolerance to be made

If people were more like books
Maybe we'd get on a little better
Take a minute to learn
Instead of trying to burn,
What's inside,
Because you don't like the cover.

This is a piece I'm going to perform live, the part about the guitar is to add effect.
