Sleep

When I lay my head
The thoughts that stir
They slowly eat away at me
And the night becomes my enemy

The lullabies I hum
To keep myself calm
Slowly turn into monsters
That scream in my ears

My bed becomes cold
I feel my breath harden
The frost surrounds me
Making my body freeze

I wish he was with me
To fight the monsters
