The Sea Shell

One day as I walked upon a sandy hill I noticed the smallest sea shell
It glistened as if telling me to take me away somewhere
So I placed it in my pocket and went on my way
I walked for what feels like the entire day
I never grew tired or slowed down my pace
Nothing could stop me when I was going to my happy place
As the night grew colder I made it to the shore
Where splashing waves fell until there was nothing more
The shining little sea shell felt rough against my palm
It seemed brighter in the moonlight made me feel so calm
I couldn't tell you how this shell made me feel that night
My tears were no longer and everything was right.
I sat right there and wondered how this came so fast
I couldn't quite remember when I was happy last
So I kept the little sea shell and it's always in my heart
Even when we're far away never could we part
