Granny Betty

Your peanut butter fudge

Your mash potatoes

You sittin' in your chair painting your nails

Watching the Food Network with you

Picking strawberries with you in the summer

Coming in your house and smelling the awful smell of cabbage

You shaking your head when one of us in the bunch did something wrong or something you didn't understand

You bandaging my knee when I scrapped it

You saying you can't stand animals, then tell me to go feed Ruger's rabbit cause the little thang like apples and bananas

You fussing at Papaw with a smile on your face

You always telling me to go to the kitchen and get something to eat cause I'm human and people like to eat

Your biscuits and gravy

Breakfast at your house with you

The easter egg hunts you would have at your house

Your laughter

Your smile

You touching and playing with my hair and telling me I have beautiful dark curly hair like you did when you were young

These are the things I miss, but what I miss the most is you.

I wrote this poem for my Granny Betty. I love her and I miss her dearly. She was one of the most wonderful strong women this world has had the grace of having.
