In the Darkness

I am but two glowing eyes
staring out across the lands
watching all the separate worlds
moving my pale, slender hands

I hold the key to the universe
and wisdom strikes at every hour
I plant the seed of knowledge
from it grows a yin-yang flower

In the darkness I have no looks
just feeling and emotion
they peer out from bright eyes
always together and always in motion

In the dark, there is no skin color
there are souls and minds full of art
no beauty that comes from the skin
only beauty that comes from the heart

Turn off the lights
be who you want to be
I see your eyes
and my name is Me

It's all in the eyes
a mirage of colors
we needn't be pretty
nor need we be scholars

In the darkness, you are perfect
and only two things can change you
you can change yourself
or the light can be turned on anew...
