Frostbite

Though the world outside
Seems oh so bright
The wind that howls
Brings chills insight
The body grows cold
Your breath comes short
The steam of it fades
And your fingers look the color of mold
No heat can be found
Though you search in vain
And your life slips
Out on the open plains
The blue in your face
Is more than to tell
How a humble heart came
And tragically fell
