Underneath

There’s a monster under my flesh,
Hibernating as I control.
It is one larger than my body itself;
I can tell by the way my fingers stretch, curling,
Like the muscles and bones underneath
Are trying to rip through my tips.

It wants control.
I know by the way my neck twists when it wakes,
And my mind wanders to the thoughts
Of spilling my own blood
And breaking my own limbs.

It’s just a matter of time
Before I let it success
And hibernate myself.

For eternity.
