Time

Time slips through our fingers
Like sand through a sift.
Don’t stop for the roses,
Just take a whiff.

Consumed by moths,
Eaten by rust.
Here today,
Then back to dust.

So take your regrets,
And turn them into dreams.
Fill your life to the brim,
Let it burst at the seams.

The past only holds you back
And the future just scares you.
Why not take the present
And do what you want to?

Watch an eagle in mid-flight,
Count the stars in the night sky,
Laugh until you cry,
Bleed until you die.

Whatever makes you happy can’t be wrong
So sing your song
To the mountains’ peaks and the wind’s rush
Cause when the final curtain falls
And your name is called,
All we’ll have are the things we did and the people we touched.
