You Have No Power Over Me

I should have known that you weren't a man that kept your word
you always disappear like an endangered bird
never there when my walls come crashing down
and you ask me why I wear this frown
It's because your never there

and I do not take too kindly to that my dear
lying and manipulating me
thinking your doing me a favor by setting yourself free
and all I wanted was the truth
but I might as well be pulling out your tooth

it is frustrating
not at all liberating
and I am tired of waiting
you are no longer intimidating
now when you speak
I will softly kiss you on the cheek
and wave you on your way
and exile you to a place that is far away

I will not shriek
or become weak
from this moment on I am free
because you have no power over me
