The Day Approaches.

Six months now will have come and gone,
still, you've been with me all along.
Test and trials face us daily,
Standing strong, you came and saved me.

The day we meet moves in closer,
few days till I finally hold her.
Her body's small, her face so fair,
the ocean breeze clings to her hair.

The night approaches quickly here,
train ride silent, the sky is clear.
Soft sweet words, our excited tone,
spoken about "Oh, how we've grown!"

"I'll be there soon, an hour more."
Sixty minutes you can't ignore.
Every car, I turn on a dime.
My heart beating in overtime,

Let her open up that side door.
Was this parking lot big before?
She looks over and tries to see,
Please just jump out and come to me!

Finally the car slows and stops,
As my mouth unknowingly drops.
"She's here, it's her I see her now.."
I stand thinking, wondering "How..?"

Before I know, she's squeezing me,
hugging, holding, and yet, I'm free.
Our mind blanks, all that comes? "I'm here.."
"You're here." "We're here" "You're here." I'm here.

I really do apologize for being gone so long. Not only that, but for the terrible quality my writing still has, I haven't written very much in years now, so I haven't gotten any better yet.
Old poem I wrote awhile back about meeting my (then) long distance girlfriend, we were able to be together for the one year anniversary of meeting, and for our half year anniversary of dating.
This was written a few days before I left on my trip to meet her, I finished it up somewhat to put it on here.
