A Shield about Him

Joel was a brave soul.
A warrior against this blight.
Bringing people to the Lord was his goal,
He fought a valiant fight.

His fate seems too soon, unfair.
Many tears shall be shed in pain,
But now God caresses him in his care.
And someday we will see him again.

Do not focus on your great loss,
Think of his beautiful shining face
Receiving salvation because of the cross.
He is now residing in a heavenly place.

He does not want you to grieve,
But to rejoice that his pain has ceased.
He wants you to remember his love you received
So your pain will stop, so you'll find release.

Joel was loved by family and friend
He brought joy to all around
This love will never truly end
He wants you to be where peace abounds.

He wants you to know God loves you so
He wants you to know you're not alone
He wants you to laugh so your heart will glow
He wants you to know that, finally, he's home.
