Pain of Losing Someone

My heart breaks for everyone who lost somebody.
We all feel lost,
The pain in my chest won't go away, not today.
I still hear their voice, their laughter,
I still see their love and joy in their eyes,
I can still feel their touch on my skin each and every day.
The tears won't go away, not today.
Days fade but the memories stay and I don't want it any other way.
No one can be saved by that kind of pain.
We all struggle to move on.
We all handle losing someone in our own way.
It hurts to remember all the silly fights we had,
How we would look back and laugh at the stupid things.
I'll always remember every little thing we did.
We could turn to them for anything, now they’re in a better place looking down at us.
We can still hear and feel them through the whispers, in the wind.
We would have seized the time we had with them if we had known they would be taken away.
A piece of us dies when we lose someone but we hold our heads held high, they know we'll find our own way when their gone,
Might not be today but one day we will because that's what they would want.
