Perfect Imperfection

In a perfect world
I would know what is true
What lies within me
And what lies within you
In a perfect world
There'd be no need for fear
I could bask in the sun
And smile when you're near
In a perfect world
I could dream of you
And awake in the morning
Not feeling so blue
In a perfect world
I could be in your arms
And not one in that world
Would have had any qualms
In a perfect world
Not the one where we are
I would not have to wait
Just to wish on a star
In a perfect world
One of which I must find
I would never have had
To leave you behind
But our world is not perfect
As I'm sure you see
Not all that I dream of
Might well come to be
But one dreaming thought
One spark in my mind
Has within the answers
For the questions I find
For if naught else is true, all I want to do
Is share this perfect imperfection with you
