A Broken Planet

I will never have children.
I will not, for I do not ever
Wish for anyone to live in the world that I do.
A world where I couldn't ever let them walk to school alone,
Where they couldn't even eat their candy on Halloween.
A world where they won't really ever be who they are,
For fear of being too harshly judged or ridiculed.
A world where some children would rather die
Than live now and be with those people here.
A world where that seems a much better option.
I cannot allow a child of mine to exist in a world
Where these things happen everyday.
