Personal Lies

There's a million truths
And an abundance of lies
This I know is absolute
A piece of me dies

The biggest of them all
Is a tale told day to day
A tale so tall
The lie of being okay

The second is harder
It's the reason the day is crappy
The lie that seems to go farther
Is the one where you're happy

The scariest has to be
The one we don't want to believe
The fact that we don't want to be lonely
And the ones we love never leave.

But we're not okay
At the end of the day
We're not smiling
We're crying
And we walk the street alone
Lies we live with and take home
