The Naked Moment I Denied

"Take a load off Annie",
Her slender grace is wasted on you.
What’s slender to you is islands of fury to me.
Sent through time’s instrument!

She kissed the neck beneath my guilt and weight.
She kissed the weight that bent me down.
And I gaped at the nape that made the crown.

She could be anyone. At any time. At any place.
In anyway. To any mind.
It didn’t matter because I! was there.
And she had me!

I made the island. Past the dead. In song and slender tune.
Retribution came fast. Past my opportunities.
I cried my daydream of opportunity.
And knelt before his kisses.
Counting my blessings that I was under the stars.

What I needed what I knew was to go down.
But on whom was I, then, breaking down.
She cried her youth and he cried his time.

While I drowned my sorrows in my opportunities, fantasies and desires.

She kissed the nape under the weight. When time sunk its stink behind the wall and I wept as I the angel withdrew.

Not knowing when. Not knowing how. But knowing WHY!
