Sailing

I can feel you
Like rope
Weaving your way through my bones
Pulling tight
Crushing my rib cage
Transforming my chest into a raft
So that you can sail the seven seas

And leave my heart on the beach
With my eyes
And my lips
So I can tell passersby about you
And watch for your return.

But you’ve taken my ears
To whisper sweet nothings in to
So that I can’t hear them say
You’re never coming home.
