Fire

It's burning, raging inside of the delicate girl's heart cage, threatening to break her.
She cries out, avoiding it's name, but wishing someone would be her savior!

"You're wrong," they scream, "You're supposed to be blue!"
She resigns to hold it in; what they're saying must be true.

The monster she lives with has a finite reputation for turning people ice cold
But they way she feels is hot and burning; her monster must be bold.

So she tells the man her parents now force her to see
He frowns, but before he can speak, she spits, "Listen to me."

"I have all the feelings they have, worthlessness and shame,
As well as unintentional apathy that accompanies the pain."

"I may feel it differently than most others suffering
But my problem is just as legitimate; oh the hardship it brings."

The man sits in stunned silence as the girl bursts into tears
She smiles, speaking once again, "At least they cool the object of my fears."

6. Write a poem demonstrating an emotion without stating what that emotion is.
This is hella abstract so if you didn't quite get it, it's about depression.
