Shadow

You follow me through the day,
Keep me company when I'm alone.
At night you go to sleep,
Leaving me to face the night head on.

Together we walk through the day,
Head up, back straight, embracing what's ahead.
Together forever, but separated by the unknown,
We cannot be separated forever.

A part of me you are,
Copying my every move,
I feel as though I am not alone,
And you are my only friend,
