A Girl I Know

Maybe I ain't as strong,
But I know that I'm not wrong,
When a see an angel,
In the place of what should be evil.

They say that those treated bad,
Are meant to be vicious or mad,
But not this girl I know,
She hides behind no show.

Her smile never ends,
Yet I think she pretends,
For how can she smile?
When her past lingers all the while.

I kick another stone away,
Angry at something again today,
Yet she smiles and goes on,
And I remember, that I'm not gone.

I stay silent, because I'm weak,
And I see no reason to speak,
Ignorance is my shield,
Yet she knows too well the battlefield.

She knows pain,
And craves rain.

She knows thunder,
She often will wonder.

What it is to be alive,
How to go on in this life,
Yet she finds a way,
Each and every single day.

She may never get the perfect grades,
But she never hides in the masquerades.

The only one who bares no mask,
Is the one, when in doubt, you ask.

And the girl I know is true through and through,
I hope that a part of her lies in both me and you.

For strength is an ally,
And there's no need to shy,
When the bells ring,
When these birds sing.

Embrace the warming atmosphere,
And know, whilst angels are here,
You have nothing more to fear,
And whilst you bleed, she'll be near.

Watching over everyone else,
Realising as her past melts,
How she is like no other being,
She is seeing what no one's seeing.

But that is what makes her beautiful,
And that devastation is what makes her wonderful.

That smile she wears is what makes her strong,
Because she lives for others and she puts on no show.

And if you ever think her weak, you will be wrong,
For she is the strongest, boldest and kindest girl I know.

I will try to fix myself for her forevermore,
For that is the kindness that I ought to show,
To a girl who is as innocent as snow,
And who will forever be the strongest I know...
