Our Footprints In The Sand

His hands were soft as silk
As the wind rustled my hair.
I inhaled deeply,
crisp and light was the air.

He gently touched my cheek
And I closed my eyes.
We were surrounded by a force
that temporarily hid us from hate and lies.

The taste of his lips
They brushed mine carefully
A kiss I did not
Want given so sparefully.

He wrapped his lanky arms around my waste
Hugging me close, I nestled in his arms.
It felt almost like he had
Done away with all harms.

I longed for a second touch of his lips
Another dance in his hold
Another love so foretold.

I remember it now,
We walked
hand in hand
along the ocean's edge,
our footprints in the sand.
