Daddy Said

walk down stairs to see my parents having another fight
Another argument where no one can be right
my daddy is yelling and i can see my mummy cry
that’s when he saw me standing there in the corner of his eye

And says to me son
Life isn’t perfect we all have our ups and downs
Sometimes what we want just doesn’t work out
But love is there after everything you’ve gone through
Never take for granted the one who loves you

As I grew up daddys words stayed with me
Shaped me into the man that I have come to be
When my girl had tears streaming down her face
I pulled her close and held her in a tight embrace

And said

The years went by she stayed by my side
It didn’t take long before I made her my bride
And when it came to having a child of our own
We brushed off the doubts with the words id always known
