When You Leave Me

If you are going to leave me,
please do me a favour and close the door.

I cannot stand another draft against my skin
and I cannot take another chilly night that is you
and your fallen leaves.

If you are going to leave me,
please pack your things and leave quietly.

I don’t think I can stand another incident
of me stepping into something of yours that
I was never allowed to touch.

And when you finally leave me,
please delete my number from your phone.

I don’t want you to be reminded that
we could ever be the same,
again.
