Death Beckons

Lights flash, lives end
The light goes out, all is still again
he runs from those who might know
Into the embrace of silence cold

And the Garden of Eden
It burned down long ago
And took with it any last shots of redemption

He'll run forever
Forever into the arms of loneliness
Having destroyed all that he loved
And become someone he's not
His craftiness is run out and his cover up gone

And soon, he knows, Death will come for him
His last breath wasted on cursing the girl he loved
Who waits for him on the other side of Death's cold embrace

Death beckons him to join his love
And congratulates itself on all the souls reaped
All at the hands of one broken man
Death must be on its way to start the cycle again
