Guilty Pain

Guilty Pain
By: S. Rachele Chappell

Running in the darkness,
hurt really bad, almost dying.
At night sometimes it seems,
I can hear all my pains crying.
Blame it on the lies that killed me.
Blame it on the truth that ran me down.
You can blame it all on me,
it don't matter now.

Running in the sunshine,
to try and start a brand new day.
In the shadows lurk my pain,
although I try, they won't go away.
Blame it on my strength that changed me.
Blame it on the weakness that brings me down.
You can blame it all on me,
it don't matter now.

Running in the pouring rain,
to try and cleanse my evil ways.
Under shelter truth does hide,
haunting me for the rest of my days.
Blame it on the knowledge that helped me.
Blame it on the ignorance that kept me down.
You can blame it all on me,
it don't matter now.
When I break down there's nothing left to say.
I'm guilty of stealing, guilty of lying, guilty of sin,
because I hated him,
and I hated you,
when you went away.
