Holding on to Thin Air

Keep taking a chance,
Letting myself down,
Keep falling to my Earth,
Don’t know why I do.

Keep in a tight stance,
In the outskirts of town,
This isn’t my own turf,
Cos I’m nowhere near you.

Lost,
Somewhere,
And the cost,
I’m aware of.

I’ll keep,
Cherishing,
The nights I sleep,
Cos I’m testing.

Myself, again,
I’ll be fine,
Never felt pain,
In this heart of mine.

In the night,
She sings,
With a body,
Naked in the moonlight.

She’ll fight,
With her wings,
If anybody,
Tries to burn away her bright.

Shine,
Oh, she shines,
All the time,
But these blurred line.

Always get in the way,
He watches her day to day,
Thinking over what she’d say,
The beauty in the night sky.

He’d see her eyes,
And the tears she cries,
Oh, it’s never a surprise,
That this angel longs to die.

Her innocence long gone,
With her father and mother,
Forever been alone,
With nothing but stars to guide her.

Living on the streets,
Mud in her eyes,
Everybody she meets,
Sees only her disguise.

But he,
Sees a beauty,
With her bare skin,
And her beating heart within,
He’ll someday set her free.
