How Still My Love

You question how still is my love?
it is akin to the stillness of the trees,
forever love I pledge unto thee;
my beloved you’re all I can think of

Thereof it is as still as the night,
motionless as the calm blue seas,
it causes my beating heart to freeze;
whenever you’re in my line of sight,

My lungs cease to expand and breathe,
my eyes glint in a mesmerizing gaze,
all thoughts are foggy and in a haze
out of my daze, my body wreathes

It is still as the cloudless blue sky,
without movement as the stars above,
my heart defies stillness only dreamed of;
abreast of you and I how still is my love
