The Scheme

I sold you a secret that was a wish
Of hopes and dreams and bits of diamond.

I sold you a look, which sent a current
Backwards through a relationship to its inception.

That was once you began your inception,
And I in simplicity was at your discretion

Open to your suggestion and without justice,
I was complicit though I didn't move.

You fired a rocket into my sun and it went nova.
Nouvelle, I named you in our secret passion.

I was lost in that deathly sunlight, in that miserable joy,
When you mentioned the boy.

I sundered slowly sleepily away and resisted all temptation
When you gave it away.

That was my Odyssey, of fire's power to mould and create in hearts of burning.
I said I was going home not to lunch.

Desire fueling desire you conscripted me
When I went willingly,
I knew much less not less than what I wanted,
And I did digress

Liberty's halls opened equal doors and you whom I did adore
Rose like a phoenix in my ashen heart.
Jet-lagged traveller of passion's art.

I malingered then a day another and in desire at which I shudder.
Broken rules in dipping play. And almost nothing drove me to dismay.

I silently picked up where we left off, and found myself stunned at the drop.
I asked you many, you answered once.

The wrong idea had birthed the séance,
And I return to my ashen heart that the scheming phoenix blew apart.
