Failed the Test

They cheered as the city fell,
The demons of destruction.
They purred as lovers turned to sin,
The demons of corruption.
They sneered at the hope that remained,
My demons in Hell.

They wailed as man spoiled the gifts they were given,
The angels of sympathy.
They looked on as faith and morals waivered,
The angels of apathy.
They despaired at the death of mankind,
My angels in Heaven.

They laughed as Earth submitted to Fire,
Men of insanity.
They trembled as the Earth sank low,
Men of tragedy.
Look at what is left of humanity.
