Paper Hearts

Absolution prying cardiac chambers open vehemently
Endless adoration for ceasing amnesty, a penchant for blood
All this sinning insisted on this sudden flood

So I'll bleed all night and lift this thought of you up...
Born to dig your own grave, gave and gave
lulled down a spiral staircase, making them stare at that scar
on your face; a mark of your ways.

Can we be melody? Started to harden in carbon
Sold modern existence at a thrift shop bargain
Now we strain to feel the beat, all numbed paper hearts
burn to yearn and stay forever young, inner mechanisms
learn to hum.

Cast me as a shadow. Take delight in my decline. Dine all wine-eyed
faces frozen in decrepit deceit...
all your friends of endless friends sending sends and vagrant tweets
leave mines for my feet, waiting
for my next step, my ends to meet.
