Seasons Change and So Do You

As the summer fades, so do you.
There once was a time we walked together,
Hand in hand, bound by love.
But as the seasons changed, so did you.
You grew distant... chill as the autumn breeze.
I tried to hold your hand, you just walked
By my side and barely said a word.
Seasons are changing, and so are you.
You were the glow, the sun, the moon.
But all light fades, the sun always sets, and the moon ever changes.
The warmth is leaving, and so are you.
But my heart aches for you.
The light of my world, the warmth of the summer.
Seasons change, and so do you.
Why have all the leaves fallen?
To lay meekly on the roads, stirring by the breath of the wind?
And to be crushed underfoot, as if they are worth nothing?
I guess the seasons must change, and so must you.
But maybe one day you will read my musings,
And feel a stirring in your heart.
Because seasons change, and so can you.
