I'm No Angel

A vast sea of loneliness and sin,
now occupy your once vacant chest.
Your sea of regret engulfs
the last of your once wild innocence.
Now here you are,
kneeling before me, repenting,
as if I am an angel
sent to revive your now lost soul.
Tell me then,
what it is you see.
Is it wings you see,
sprouting from my shoulder blades?
Is it a long, white robe you see,
that flows perfectly down my light frame?
Is it a bright halo you see,
floating proudly above my head?
I'm afraid, my dearest friend,
these things belong only in your imagination,
for time has changed us both.

I think I'll start to take up poetry again. It's been 3 years since I've written a poem. That should change.
