Letter to a Thief

I present a formal complaint
On the way you drag me and my sanity into this mess
Disguised as “love”.
Watch me and the way I believe in your words;
After you disappear in the morning light,
After you leave with the stars,
After you breathe my name under black skies.
You already know that you wreck me like that’s all you live for,
And you show no regrets in the way you have made me a slave
Of everything that is inherently you.
Is it getting any older yet?
Perhaps the day it does I’ll finally be set free.
As in for now, I only want you to know
That you have taken everything you wanted without permission,
And the fact that I’ve let you go so far with taking away my mind
Doesn’t mean that I gave you my consent.
