You Made Me See

You have me pinned to solid ground,
I can’t escape I’m chained and bound.
Darkness shrouds my beating heart,
I slowly start to fall apart.

There was a time that I felt whole,
When I was in complete control.
When the darkness was a patch of grey,
Which clung onto each and every day.

I’m alone like I’m supposed to be,
Who could ever love a girl like me.
When I was young you’d often say,
“You might deserve my love one day”.

Those words they echo in my head,
Everything you’ve ever said.
Everything that’s shaped my life,
That’s sliced and cut me like a knife.

There’s no one in the world for me,
Who’ll love me like I wish to be.
So in this darkness I will fade,
Then perhaps you’d wish I’d stayed.

If I were gone then you would see,
What your actions do to me.
With every comment my world twists,
Until, only the shell of this girl exists.
