The Beauty of the Night

The Beauty of the Night

The time when the Earth loses its light,
Despite how it may detest, with all it's might.
Then the secrets come whispering past,
Like venomous serpents in the grass.

Although they are invisible in the shade,
They may cut right through you like the sharpest blade.
Or they may poison you painfully slowly,
Because of ONE action so grimy and lowly.

But there is another side to the night,
A piece that is brilliant and shines extremely bright.
In the desert, although no one may see,
A flower blooms- and it's you and it's me.

Even though it is barren, and no one is there,
There we are, without a care.
We know it's no secret, and that it's there all the time,
Despite others not knowing, we know it's sublime.

This is about 3 years old, so I apologize for the tone of it. When I look back on it, it seems like the tone is very forced and weird. But, I don't know, and I figured I would post it.
