Weeping Willow

Weeping Willow
Why do you weep?
Is it for the sorrows
That you hide within your leaf?
Is it for the cold
That burdens down your limbs?
Is it for the seasons
That threaten your hiding protection?
Why is it
That your branches hang low?
Why is it
That your bark is withered, tho?
Is it because of the drought
That has dried up the lake?
Is it because of the tolling bell
That makes your heart ache?
Oh Weeping Willow
Why do you weep?
I wish I knew the cure
To help your silent voice speak.
You could tell us your woe
You could tell us your pain
You could tell us this burden
That grieves in your veins.
Weeping Willow
Why doths thou weep?
Please let me withdraw under thy sheltering curtain
So you can tell it in secret to me.
