Siren's Song

Serenity is found in the muted underneath.
When I clawed my way to the surface, I was battered.
Pounding waves, saltwater in my eyes and mouth.
The roar of the ocean, the seagulls' mindless chatter.

Too much chaos lies above the underneath.
Here, it all dissipates, I find peace.
Why should I continue fighting to the surface,
When all it brings me is grief?
