Days Alone

Waiting for the clock to chime
For the sun to fade away.
Waiting for your return
After your hard working day.

Sitting looking at our house
At the tree outside our door.
Just hoping that we can try
To figure this out some more.

For the nights have been only cruel
As are the worlds that spill out.
I can't understand what has changed.
To leave us in this drought.

To leave me pondering our end.
For I'm sure you've had your fill
You're tired, sore and dreary thoughts
Must be breaking your will.

How I'd love to heal your pain.
But I grow far too depressed.
So I assume we'll fight again
Until there is nothing left.

Can't we try to figure this
In a way where it's mended?
Because I am done with bitterness
I need my happy ending.

Love I stare onto our tree,
Thinking of you all the while.
Can't we find a way to love?
Or at least a way to smile.
