The Awkward Years

The funny thing is that I've always felt awkward.

I was always too scared to be myself, be proud of who I am.
I just wanted to assimilate to what society deemed acceptable.
But I discovered that I don't really fit the mold and that's okay.
I'm proud of who I've become and continue to be.

I love myself regardless of the hate you harbor for me.
